Handiham Radio Camp-Metro Edition will be held from September 4-11, 2024!<\/strong> We will be looking for several volunteers, both from the Metro area (Minneapolis\/St. Paul) and those who are willing to travel.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Enjoy a week of volunteering to help Handiham Program members learn and have fun.  Keep abreast of the latest in amateur radio and assistive technology. Instructors are experienced amateur radio operators from throughout the nation and sometimes other countries as well. Attendees are either independent or bring their own caregivers. We need volunteers to act as sighted guides during the day, helping attendees get around the venue and outside group trips. We also need control operators and people who are willing to help with hands-on activities during the week.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Please contact Lucinda if you are interested in volunteering for the 2024 in-person event. For all new and non-current volunteers, a volunteer application must be completed along with a background check and required training modules before camp. For all current volunteers, current compliance training will be required before camp with no exceptions. On-boarding as a new volunteer is a long process, so don’t wait until the last minute if you want to be at the in-person event in 2024!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
