{"id":444,"date":"2013-03-14T10:30:32","date_gmt":"2013-03-14T16:30:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/handiham.org\/remotebase\/?p=444"},"modified":"2013-03-15T17:24:59","modified_gmt":"2013-03-15T23:24:59","slug":"version-6-2-0-212-official-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/handiham.org\/remotebase\/2013\/03\/14\/version-6-2-0-212-official-release\/","title":{"rendered":"Version 6.2.0.212 official release"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_164\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-164\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/handiham.org\/remotebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/w0zsw_remote_screen_mic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-164\" alt=\"USB desk microphone &amp; LCD screen showing w4mq client.\" src=\"http:\/\/handiham.org\/remotebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/w0zsw_remote_screen_mic-300x168.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/handiham.org\/remotebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/w0zsw_remote_screen_mic-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/handiham.org\/remotebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/w0zsw_remote_screen_mic-500x280.jpg 500w, https:\/\/handiham.org\/remotebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/w0zsw_remote_screen_mic.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-164\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">USB desk microphone &amp; LCD screen showing w4mq client.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>This version of the W4MQ software has been developed to correct issues as documented throughout the beta cycle for version 6.2.0.200.\u00a0 <!--more-->We are pleased to announce that more enhancements are being developed and handiham members and volunteers can look forward to a bright future through the use of remote bases hosted for Handiham members.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With this version of W4MQ, we get closer to a more stable and compatible client.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We are moving the client\u00a0 toward the\u00a0 new era of technology\u00a0 by developing any new component to be compliant with the .Net framework.\u00a0 In addition, we are preparing the current legacy client to have accessibility for individuals that require\u00a0 a Screen Reader capable version.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>So, what have we done for this version of the remote Base Client?<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 RF Gain should go back to 100 upon logoff.\u00a0 We have had reports that clients are signing on to the stations and that the stations appear to have no activity.\u00a0 We also have reports that it is simple to change RF gain but hard to reset to original settings.\u00a0 We are resetting RF gain back to 100 on this release.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0 Squelch should go back to 0 upon logoff.\u00a0 Another annoyance was the Squelch setting.\u00a0 Seems that it was easy to break the Squelch setting but hard for some clients to reset it back to 0.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Fixed Pat&#8217;s (WA0TDA) report that the station is not returning RF Gain to 100.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 working on report by Pat (WA0TDA) that the values return to their respectives only after re-logon instead of being reset upon logoff.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 Updating the Split mode to reset the radio to simplex mode.\u00a0 Some operators have reported that split mode is easy to mess up.\u00a0 We are fixing this by resetting the radio back to simplex mode.<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0 Corrected some internal issues that make the management of code much simpler.<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0 Adding the support for the new Station configuration dialog which is forthcoming.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The future of the W4MQ remote client is bright.\u00a0 We hope that, as we continue to enhance this client, we are able to continue adding value.\u00a0 Look for the following enhancements as we move forward:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Screen Reader Accessible versions of Web Transceiver.\u00a0 this version gets us closer to that milestone!<\/p>\n<p>2.
